The New Forest Landscape, although superficially wild, is a creation of man and animal. Look more closely and a pattern of lines and artificial shapes, produced over generations of use, become evident everywhere. This woodman’s cottage, building as housing for a forestry worker, is also part of the pattern of forest life.
